(2:22) Mostly Italian, but also an eighth Cuban, and she lives in NYC. People can still rag on Italians. Vinnie shares a little background from his side of the family that surprised him. Lisa found Vinnie through listening to Adam Carolla. (14:05) She relates to Adam a bit because they both had uninvolved parents; despite his rants, she feels he is compassionate because of his background. Both of her parents checked out when she was young. (18:00) Her dad left when she was very young and both parents were messed up and narcissistic. She always had to help her parents, not the other way around. Lisa learned from a young age how to be self-sufficient. Lisa tells an incredible backstory of all the ways she was able to be self-sufficient at a young age. (19:00) She did a wide range of jobs, including as a clown, phone sex employee, and delivery driver, to name a few. She now is a professional writer. Vinnie is fascinated by Lisa's story; as a result, Vinnie tells a story about someone he met while internet dating a long time ago. (39:00) PROTECTION THAT KILLS Lisa is now NSNG®; she gives a little more story of how she found Vinnie. (48:48) She has learned how to no longer use food for emotional protection.
